AMAZING PLACE!
We had the most relaxing holiday ever staying at Quinta das Vinhas. We chose to book a cottage instead of the Guest house. It was a difficult choice! We enjoyed exploring the grounds of the Guest house which are truly spectacular.
All of the staff were extremely helpful and genuine. They really cater for the guest with the attention to detail they provide. The bread roll delivery to the cottage each morning was a lovely treat and we looked forward to starting each day with a selection of fresh bread rolls for breakfast.
Quinta das Vinhas provides real value for money without cutting corners.
We loved going to Calheta during the day for swimming and its sandy beach and also in the evenings for some good food.
We cannot wait to return to Maderia!
Details
Each of these one-bedroomed Cottages has its own unique personal character. Some have traditional burgundy coloured exteriors whilst others have the stone building revealed. Some have closed in porches - for more privacy - whilst others want to share each other in social reverie. Each cottage is less than twenty metres away from the pool and ample parking space is available below the colony. The kitchenette areas are fully equipped for you to prepare your own meals.
The lie of the land, the spacing between each Cottage and the dispersal of the different structures aorund the large swimming pool were purposefully and carefully calculated to take as much advantage of the wonderful sea and village views towards the south. The morning sun and afternoon sunsets were also carefully considered in choosing how to position and build the cottages.
Some of the services and facilities provided at the Quinta das Vinhas Cottages include:
Daily maid service, except on Sunday (does not include washing up), Linen change 2x week, Evening meal can be taken in the main house(reservation or pre-ordering necessary), Iron and ironing board available on request, Free wi-fi zone in the Main House, Cable TV, Direct dial phone, Fire-place, Heater (no charge), Firewood- €5 per basket, large swimming pool, parasols and loungers available, Large garden areas.

REAL NICE PLACE!
We stayed here for one week and had a real relaxing time. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! We rented one of the bugalows (appartment), equipped with a simple kitchen and bathroom, but all essential things were there. We had a chimney and used it on almost all evenings, as the small electric heater was not sufficient on some days. We orderd breakfast in advance, but actually it was not worth it, because it consisted of a starter package of butter, jam, 1l milk, 2l jiuce and otherwise 6 roll delivered every morning - so anyway we had to buy stuff for breakfast. (There was a small minimarket just some steps away and a supermarket close to Calheta Beach hotel.) Also the dinner was not really worth it. Just the international atmosphere in the dining room was nice. So don’ book it in advance, it can be booked on site on the same day you want to take it. Otherwise: Roca Mar close to Calheta Beach is a real good food place.
